Reviews
The hotel is clean and easily accessible. There are parking spots opposite the hotel. The bathroom was clean and spacious enough. We had a view towards the courtyard with a smoking area but there was no smell. Overall the experience was pleasant and would suggest a short term stay.
Excellent hotel with the most friendly and helpful staff probably in whole Europe.
Location was very good for us, despite hotel is located 10 minutes away from the city centre. Rooms are tidy with clean bedding.
The staff is out of imagination. Everyone was very very kind and helpful. I would rate them 6 out of 5.
friendly staf, albeit that not all staff members are equipped with a good understanding of the English language; it is described as a hotel (on Booking) but I would not confirm this - a B&B, or pension is more accurate I would say. Rooms are decent, outside view and location is so-so: it is situated near the exhibition center, but not (very) close to the city center - public transport stops are near it though.
I decided to cancel my reservation when I learnt the hotel applies hidden fee or 300CZK ($15) for late night arrivals. This hidden fee was not mentioned anywhere. Ridiculous !
Very good Pension. Is renewed and is very nice. The breakfast is not that great but is also not expensive so it is OK.
Room we were in 203 was new and very good bed! Size room was also good.
Furniture was new.....
Friendly staff
Good hotel, 2 km away from the Castle and old city center. Rooms are big and clean. Air conditioning, TV, minibar, free wifi is available. Tram and several buses are close to the hotel. Free car parking is available on the street, in working hours it is hard to find a freeplace. Hotel is accepting credit cars. A few restaurants are close to the hotel. Bed too hard for my taste, breakfast could have more variations.
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Comfortable beds! However, no air conditioning in room, and you are fined for late (after 9) check in (EUR 10). Breakfast was great.
I would like to point to the fact that based on my travel history (3 continents, dozens of cities) the prices are really high! I remember I paid 65$/night in Houston, TX which included the breakfast, and also didn't pay for my late arrival. The fact that, this hotel trying to charge you above the already high costs, and the cost of living in Brno is very much lower than the US counterparts, made me regret even visiting the city!
Across all hotels/BB/airbnb etc., I've been to, here in this hotel you have to pay 14 euros if you check-in after 9pm. It gets more sad, since there are barely any direct flight to the city, and most of the time visitors come from Wien airport.
The shower/bath area is rather small, when you turn, you hit the wall, or the door, faucet. There were no clock/alarm in the room, and there was a mini fridge, for which, you must pay for drinking/having anything (not fair in case of water or small snacks, but fair in case of alcoholic beverages).
Again in my own experience, aside from beverages/beers, there were always "Free" small snacks or water/coffee in any other hotel, only those cheap BB ask for breakfast expenses.
I am a non-EU resident with long-term permit. When I got to the hotel, the receptionist asked me if I have a Czech visa!!!! and after checking my residence permit and passport for some time, in the end, he gave me simple small paper to fill and sign. (anyone with EU residence permit, can live in another EU member for up to 3 months, without any document or visa, etc.) I never had this issue in ANY other EU country.
I believe this hotel does not worth it overall. I was misguided by the positive reviews. A money-greedy business.
